Construction

Universal end brackets are constructed of 20-gauge powder-painted steel and are secured to the host fixture with provided tek screws. End brackets are painted black or white to match existing parabolic or troffer door frame reveals. The LED light engine is 20-gauge powder painted steel and is wired to the supply voltage using a driver-disconnect plug system provided as standard. A steel wiring connection cover is provided for use if required.

The door frame and reflector assembly is vaulted cold-rolled steel with embossed facets and is painted after fabrication. Impact-modified, single clear acrylic diffuser provides excellent shielding and wide distribution.

Optics

Volumetric illumination is delivered by creating an optimal mix of light to walls, partitions, vertical and horizontal work surfaces — rendering the interior space, objects and occupants in a more balanced, complementary luminous environment. Linear faceted reflector cavity softens and distributes light into the space while minimizing luminous contrast between the fixture and ceiling. Sloped end plates provide a smooth, luminous transition between fixture and ceiling while enhancing the perception of fixture depth.

Electrical

Long-life LEDs, coupled with high-efficiency drivers, provide superior quantity and quality of illumination for extended service life. 2VTL2R is rated to deliver L80 performance for 50,000 hours. eldoLED driver options deliver choice of dimming range and choices for control, while assuring flicker-free, low-current inrush, 89% efficiency and low EMI. Optional integrated nLight®controls make each luminaire addressable — allowing it to digitally communicate with other nLight-enabled controls such as dimmers, switches, occupancy sensors and photocontrols. Simply connect all the nLight-enabled control devices and the 2VTL2R luminaires using standard Cat-5 cabling. Unique plug-and-play convenience as devices and luminaires automatically discover each other and self-commission.

Lumen Management: Unique lumen management system (option N80) provides onboard intelligence that actively manages the LED light source so that constant lumen output is maintained over the system life, preventing the energy waste created by the traditional practice of over-lighting. Step-level dimming option allows system to be switched to 50% power for compliance with common energy codes while maintaining fixture appearance. Driver disconnect provided where required to comply with US and Canadian codes.

Installation

After existing fluorescent components are removed from housing, universal end brackets are fastened in place with tek screws. The LED light engine assembly mounts to the end brackets and hangs securely while the wiring connection is made using a driver-disconnect plug system provided as standard. The light engine then swings up into position and is secured in place with a captive screw at each end. The door frame is then inserted via a sliding hinge into the end bracket and secured in the closed position with a rotating cam latch. Light engine may be removed from fixture during service. LED boards include plug-in connectors for easy replacement or servicing. Suitable for damp location installations.

nPODM Family The nPODM Series WallPods are nLight-enabled toggle and/or dimming switches that provide a user with local control of a lighting zone. These single gang decorator style devices have soft-click buttons and have a green LED indicator for each button. WallPods communicate with other nLight devices via a CAT-5 cable that connects to one of its two RJ-45 connectors. A basic low voltage WallPod can work with an nLight power pack or line voltage sensor to provide toggle switch operation. WallPods with the DX dimming option have the added ability to adjust the level of any nLight controlled dimmable lighting.

nPODM xS Family The nPODM xS Series WallPods are single gang nLight-enabled devices that provide one, two, and four scene control. These units provide a convenient method of selecting a custom lighting control scene for the room in which it is installed, or requesting a profile be run across several remote zones. By default, however, the buttons of an nPODM xS are configured as on/off toggle switches.

The nPODM xS has soft-click push-buttons and has a green LED indicator for each button. These button are field replaceable and can be custom engraved. Two RJ-45 connectors allow the nPODM xS to be daisy-chain wired with CAT-5 cabling to other nLight network devices.

nPOD GFX The Graphic WallPod (nPOD GFX) provides an elegant and sophisticated user control to any nLight controlled space. Its 3.5 inch~157;, high resolution touch screen is easy to view and simple to use.

The Graphic WallPod fundamentally operates as a multi-channel user control device. It is configurable to display up 16 controls (either on/off, or on/off/dim style) as well as 8 lighting preset buttons (in groups of 4). Each screen displays two controls with simple left/right paging style navigation to access other screens.

A control is activated simply by touching the screen. The unit instantly communicates the desired action throughout the connected zone of nLight devices. All devices programmed to listen for (track) commands from switches on a respective channel will react by turning connected lights on/off, or by dimming them accordingly. To facilitate simple commissioning of a zone, the Graphic WallPod automatically discovers and displays a list of all devices with relays and dimming outputs within its zone. The switch tracking settings on these devices can then be modified from the Graphic WallPod.

Lighting presets consist of a combination of user configured settings (on/off or dim level) for each control that can be activated via a single button. Pressing the applicable button then instantly communicates the group of presets out to the devices in the zone.

nWV 16 Family The nLight nWV 16 Series Wide View occupancy sensor is designed to mount in a corner and detect small motions up to 40 ft away, and larger motions up to 70 ft away. This makes it ideal for 30 ft x 30 ft classrooms or corridors up to 70 ft long. The enclosure's convenient tilting feature enables the sensor to be mounted at any height from 8 to 10 ft. When corner or wall mounting is not possible, the WV BR ceiling bracket accessory can be used to mount the nWV 16 to the ceiling. Additionally, the nWV 16 may be used in combination with other nLight sensors to customize coverage for very large or irregularly shaped spaces. nHW 13 The nLight nHW 13 Series occupancy sensor provides long narrow PIR detection for control of hallway lighting. Typically mounted at either end, these sensors detect occupants entering a hallway up to 130 ft away. Detection at this distance is for entrances at right angles to the beam pattern. Additionally, the nHW 13 may be used in combination with other nLight sensors to customize coverage for very long or irregularly shaped corridors. For example, an nCM 10 ceiling sensor may be in a entrance vestibule at one end of a hallway while the nHW 13 is at the other. The nHW 13 is best mounted at a 7 ft height.

nES 7 Family OVERVIEW
The nES 7 is a small passive infrared occupancy sensor designed to be easily embedded into luminaires. This sensor provides excellent line of sight 360~176; PIR detection of small motion and walking motion. The nES 7 is ideal for small rooms without obstructions or areas with primarily walking motion (e.g. corridors, library stacks). Additionally, an optional integrated photocell enables daylight harvesting control as well. Typically one or more nES 7 sensors are paired with either nEPP5 D embedded relay pack(s) or nLight-enabed relay pack(s) or panel.

nIO PC KIT The nLight nIO PC KIT provides an outdoor photocontrol solution for nLight networks. In addition to a weatherproof outdoor photocontrol that mounts to any 1/2~157; knockout, the nIO PC KIT includes an interface device with a normally low input. This device called a nIO NLI, detects the state of the photocontrol and communicates it over the nLight network to a relay(s) controlling a lighting load. The nES ADCX is a small automatic dimming photocell sensor designed to be easily embedded into luminaires. Providing both on/off and automatic dimming control for daylight harvesting applications, the nES ADCX is ideal for spaces with windows, such as vestibules, corridors, classrooms, or offices. The sensor works by monitoring daylight conditions in a room, then controlling the lighting so as to ensure that adequate lighting levels are maintained. While ideally paired with the nEPP5 D linear power pack, the nES ADCX can actually control any dimming output or relay across an nLight network. The nLight nPP16 ER Series relay pack is used to switch luminaires powered via an emergency circuit. Ideal for use along side a standard nPP16 relay pack that controls a zone's normal powered lighting, the nPP16 ER is designed to switch up to 16 Amps of lighting load.

The nPP16 ER's two RJ-45 connectors make control wiring with standard CAT-5 cabling easy and clean. nPP20 PL

The nLight nPP20 PL power pack extends the power pack family, delivering robust system performance and design versatility for commercial and industrial control applications. The nPP20 PL is capable of switching loads up to 20 Amps for general purpose receptacle load via an internal latching relay designed with robust protection. This power pack also has two available options – the base unit powers off of line voltage, but does not provide nLight bus power. An option is available for a unit that provides bus power – this option (BP) provides up to 40mA from each of its two RJ-45 ports by transforming Class 1 line voltage (120 VAC) to Class 2 low voltage (15 VDC). This power is typically utilized by other nLight devices within the power pack’s local control zone; however, remaining power is also made available over the network for Bridges and devices in other zones to utilize. Simply add this device into an nLight control zone with an occupancy sensor and the unit will automatically switch off when the room becomes vacant. Local manual switch and photocell control of receptacles is not typically required, therefore it is disabled by default.

nIO The nLight nIO D / nIO 1S is a low voltage device that interfaces and provides network addressability for a variety of non-nLight devices. The nIO D is an output device that controls the dimming level of 0-10 VDC dimming ballasts / LED drivers. The nIO 1S is an input device that detects a toggle or momentary dry contact closure switch. Additionally, the nIO 1S can read a 0-10 VDC dimming control signal from non-nLight dimming photocells and wall dimmers.

nIO D / nIO 1S devices wire into any zone of nLight devices (sensors, power packs, WallPods) using CAT-5 cabling. Class 2 interface wires are present with each unit: an input or an output wire, and a common/ground. The nIO D / nIO 1S comes standard in an inline wired housing or with a 1/2 chase nipple for mounting to a luminaire or junction box knockout (KO option).

Remote Scene Mode: Requests the Gateway to run a system profile on non-local devices or zones
Time Delay Sweep Mode: Initiates an occupancy time delay sweep (i.e., temporarily sets timers to 0, 5 (default), 10, 15, 30 sec or 1 min) When used to read a 0-10 VDC dimming signal, the nIO 1S can control any dimming output within its zone.

When used as an addressable dimming output, the nIO D can control standard (non-DALI) 0-10 VDC dimmable ballasts / LED drivers. This provides a simple cost-effective method of adding additional dimming zones to a room and/or making every fixture individually controllable. This dimming output can be controlled in many ways.

nPS 80 EZ

The nLight nPS 80 EZ dimming pack controls LED luminaires with 0-10V LED drivers from eldoLED. This smart device results in the luminaire being “nLight enabled” - making it both addressable as well as capable of digitally communicating with other nLight enabled controls such as occupancy sensors, photocells, and WallPods. This allows for advanced operation and design flexibility ranging from stand-alone rooms to building and campus-wide networks.

The nPS 80 EZ device also provides energy saving lumen management. With lumen management the device actively manages the luminaires LED light output such that constant lumen output is maintained over system life, thus preventing the energy waste created by the traditional practice of over-lighting.

An nPS 80 EZ is compatible with all eldoLED 0-10V drivers, however a nIO EZ PH device is also an option for controlling eldoLED ECOdrive (1%) family drivers with an auxiliary power output.

nEPS 60 IO EZ LC The nLight nEPS 60 IO EZ LC embedded dimming output module controls Lithonia and other Acuity Brands LED luminaires with 0-10V LED drivers from eldoLED. The nEPS 60 IO EZ LC also contains an nLight power supply making it ideal for SOLOdrive (0.1%) family drivers that do not provide auxiliary device power. ARP Relay Panel The nLight Relay Panel family delivers cost-effective 0-10V dimming and switching with the optional Field Configurable Relay for your building design needs. Smart and simple switching and dimming, the nLight Relay Panel communicates with an nLight network and supports up to 128 digital devices per nLight control zone. Offering a full range of panel sizes, the nlight Relay Panel is ideal for spaces that require full circuit control, with the optional flexibility of configuring single pole relays into a two or three-pole relays in the field.

nPANEL 4 The nLight nPANEL 4 is targeted at rooms that require multiple relays to be co-located in a more traditional cabinet enclosure. Utilizing four 30 Amp rated relays, the nPANEL 4 can switch up to four 120/277/347 VAC loads. Further, as a standard feature, the nPANEL 4 pairs a 0-10 VDC dimming output with each relay. This enables connected loads to be both switched and dimmed as necessary. Each of the nPANEL 4's relay/dimming channels can be independently programmed; enabling custom multi-circuit control applications.

The nPANEL 4's onboard power supply provides up to 40 mA of power from each of its CAT-5 (bus) connections and 200 mA via its auxiliary power output. This enables other nLight devices to connect directly to the nPANEL without any further consideration for device powering.

nPANEL 2 480 The nLight nPANEL 2 480 is targeted at applications that require multiple relays to be located in a cabinet enclosure. CAT5 Utilizing pre-terminated CAT-5e cables is a great way to reduce labor costs. These CAT-5e patch cables are pre-terminated with RJ45 style connectors on both ends. All cables are plenum rated and conform to the T568B pin-pair specification. The RJ-45 terminations are unbooted (i.e. no molded strain relief) which allows for easier connection to nLight devices. Cables are available in several lengths for convenience. All cables are white (with the exception of red isolation cables) and labeled “Acuity Brands Controls”.

nBRG 8 The nLight 8-Port Bridge increases the number of lighting control zones in an nLight system. This ability stems from the fact that each Bridge has 8 RJ-45 ports into which zones of daisy-chained nLight-enabled devices can connect. The Bridge also is an integral component of the communication backbone in an nLight network. Fundamentally, Bridges act as hubs by aggregating traffic from the connected downstream zones and placing it onto the backbone. They also act as routers by forwarding information from the backbone out to the applicable downstream zones. The Bridge's actual backbone link is formed by connecting to another Bridge or a Gateway via CAT-5 cabling through one of its RJ 45 ports. Finally, Bridges can combine system power from zones that are net contributors of power (i.e. those with downstream power packs and power supplies) and distribute it to zones that are net consumers of power (i.e. those with only sensors). Maximum power output per port is 40mA.

nGWY2 OVERVIEW
The nLight Series 2 Gateway (nGWY2) provides time-based control of an nLight network as well as acts as the Ethernet interface for SensorView software. Consisting of a control unit and touch screen wall station, the nGWY2 expands the capacity and functionality of the Series 1 nLight Gateway (nGWY) and enables enhanced nLight architectures to be utilized (see operation notes on back of datasheet).
Discovers nLight devices (max 1500 or 400 depending on version) and provides system time. Clock stores time based profiles. Enables setup of global control channels via sensor view On-Demand profile forwarding between Gateways. Communicates over TCP/IP with nWiFi Devices (consult factory) Interfaces with Sensor View Software. Remotely upgradeable touch screen controlled user interface.

nIO BT The nLight Handheld Programmer uses a Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) Radio Module to allow wireless communication between the local nLight zone and iOS/Android smart phone application, nConfig. This device offers two RJ-45 ports to be placed in any location on a local nLight zone, and the unit powers up directly off of the nLight bus. The smart phone application offers secure pairing with the BLE device when within range, and once connected can be used for identifying and configuring devices within that zone.

nADR OpenADR is an open and standardized way for electricity providers to communicate demand response signals with their customers using a common language over any existing IP-based communications network, such as the Internet. The nADR client allows an nLight system to integrate with an OpenADR 2.0a Demand Response Automation Server (DRAS). This device functions by communicating with a configured OpenADR DRAS to retrieve live power demand information from the utility company and shed load according to pre-configured user settings. The device supports four demand response settings: None, Moderate, High and Special; allowing a user to define load shed strategies for each mode.

nSHADE OVERVIEW
The nLight nSHADE Interface Pack enables direct integration with contact closure inputs on controller devices for motorized shades. When combined with nLight-enabled occupancy sensors, photocells, and/or WallPods, the nSHADE adds both automatic and manual shade control functionality to a room's overall lighting control system.

nPS 80 As the name suggests, the nPS 80 power supply contributes power to the nLight system. By connecting directly to the nLight communication bus, the nPS 80's generated power (up to 80mA at 15 VDC) is accessible to any system device. For simplifying installation, the nPS 80 has an elongated chase nipple. This feature allows it to be attached either directly through a 1/2" knockout into a junction box, or inside an adjacent box for meeting specific local code requirements in ceiling plenums. The nPS 80 has two RJ-45 ports, each that is current limited to 40 mA, making wiring with standard CAT-5 cabling easy and clean.

PS 150 As the name suggests, the PS-150 power supply contributes power to nLight devices such as the Gateway and Bridge. Wiring to terminal connections on those devices, the PS-150 generates up to 150mA of power at 15 VDC. For simplifying installation, the PS-150 has an elongated chase nipple. This feature allows it to be attached either directly through a ~189;" knockout into a junction box, or inside an adjacent box for meeting specific local code requirements in ceiling plenums.

The PS 150 can also be used to power standard low voltage sensors such as the CM-ADC.

nSP5 2P LVR The nLight nSP5 2P LVR Skylight Louver Control Pack is designed to open/close SunOptics LCM Series Skylight Louvers & Dampers. When combined with the nCMR ADC LVR photocell, automatic daylight control that integrates both skylight and electric lights is both simple and effective. Manual control can also be easily achieved by adding any nLight WallPod to the zone of nLight devices. The nSP5 2P LVR has 2 relays that interface directly with the louver’s motors. Connection to other nLight devices is done with CAT-5 cables that connect via the unit’s two RJ 45 connectors. For simplifying installation, the nSP5 2P LVR has an elongated chase nipple that allows it to be attached through a 1/2” knockout into a junction box, or inside an adjacent box for meeting specific local code requirements in ceiling plenums.
