Requirements
Metal Halide fixtures operating with lamps from 150 to 500 watts must contain one of the following with the corresponding minimum ballast efficiency:

| Pulse Start | ≥ 150W and £ 500W | 88% |
| Non-pulse Start Electronic | ≥ 150W and £ 250W | 90% |
| > 250W and £ 250W | 92% |
| Magnetic Probe Start | ≥ 150W and £ 500W | 94% |
